I have arrived!

For those of you who have not heard through the grapevine that I will be in Nepal for the next couple months... I guess the title of this blog is self explanatory. After pretty much 2 full days of travel, I finally arrived safe and sound. SO happy to be here with Marc, and ready to take SO many photos. Here is a small sample of my Epic Journey to get to Kathmandu.

This is a view of Delhi from the airplane... huge and sprawling, I think there are about 18 million people there but don't quote me on that. I'm sure I'll learn more next time I go when I actually spend more than 15 hours there.

So after I arrived in Delhi at about 11:00 pm Monday night, I called a hostel called 'Ringo Guest House' and reserved a room. I got into a taxi and asked the driver 'You know where it is right?' to which he replied 'Yes yes, no problem'. Two and a half hours later (for a 40 minute ride), after stopping to ask directions so many times I lost count I finally gave up and told the taxi-wallah to take me to the 'Sunny Guest House' which somebody directed him to.

My oh-so-lovely room at the Sunny Guest House... although it was relatively cheap I don't recommend it for future Delhi travelers.

Morning in Delhi. Guess what, the Sunny Guest House (shown here) was literally around the corner from Ringo Guest House! Oy.

Random photo from walking around 'Connaught Place' in Delhi for about 2 hours (all I had before I had to head back to the ariport).

This is Robin, he showed me around for about an hour. It was actually good to walk around with someone who was Indian, because I got fewer stares and he took me to a market. Also he told me why so many stores were closed, I guess there was a Punjabi festival while I was there.

On the way to the airport this young mother came up to the car to beg for money... I felt bad but gave her some rupees and succumbed to the desire to take her photograph. At least she's smiling.

I MADE IT!

Marc and I enjoying our first meal in Nepal together... he took me to an Israeli restaurant in Thamel (the really touristy neighborhood of Kathmandu). Great food!
